Minority Mental Health Awareness Month

Updated: Aug 3, 2023

Woman stressed

As we are aware that the month of May, is Mental Heath Awareness Month. Last week we came to discover that this month is dedicated to those who fall into the "minority" category of mental health, July is Minority Mental Health Awareness Month!

Here at Vaughn A.| BlackXBeauty, we take all aspects of self-care seriously. This specific one is the #1; the most important aspect of them all. Your mind is everything! It is the true beginning of self-love which leads to self-care in a pure and natural way.

As African-Americans, most of us can attest that in our community the mental health topic tends to get pushed to the side and ignored. This has been a stigma in our community for far too long. While we ignore the reality it is only making our community worse and weakening us as a whole. We have to start educating our community on mental health awareness and where to seek help for it.

If you know anyone in our community who suffers from any type of mental health illness or someone who just needs someone to talk to please see share these helpful links and phone numbers below.
